   When you find a great experience and want to enjoy it to its fullest, well, there is no reason to leave. So, The night's plan totally fell apart! It was suppose to be a Saturday night of club hopping to check out the current male dancer offerings in Dallas. But it never happened. You see, I started the night at Zippers and I never left. I stayed right there at the bar and had more fun than I've had in a long time.

   I have always referred to Zippers as a dive bar. Now, I mean that in a very loving way. You see, dive bars are my favorite kind of venue with male dancers. Zippers isn't dirty or scuzzy, It's just an older building with a bar that has been there for a while. It's not a bar of flash and glitz. It's a bar of real people having real fun. That is my favorite type of bar. But there was more ...

 

   You enter Zippers from a side street. The entrance is at the left corner of the building. When you enter, you are immediately greeted with the sight of a male dancer on a small lighted stage in the opposite corner to the right. Turning left, you see a long bar in the middle of the room with stools around all four sides, the bartenders in the middle. At the back of the room is two more dancer stages, one on the left and one to the right. Going past the stages you will find bathrooms and then a back quiet area with a pool table. We made our way around to our left and found seats in the middle of the back side of the long bar so we could watch the dancers in both directions. The room is dark except for the lights on the dancer stages giving it a great atmosphere.

   To some, sitting at the bar might not be a great experience but let's discuss all the elements that came together to make me want to hang around. Of course, the male dancers are the first ingredient but I'll discuss them later. The music selection was excellent! It was appropriate for the customers who on this night were all males in the 30 plus age range. The music was a mix of old and new. The volume was set where you could hear it well but could still talk with the bartenders and the person next to you. It worked for the dancers. It worked for the customers. And it worked for me! But there was more ...

 

   I had decided to have only one drink at Zippers because remember, the plan was to bar hop, so I started with a Dos Equis. I didn't want to hit the hard stuff since I would be moving around a lot. I was waited on by a bartender named Stormy. Stormy said he has been at Zippers for 22 years. He was a pleasure. I enjoyed visiting with him and he did a great job checking with us to make sure we were doing good on drinks. Stormy wasn't the only pleasure behind the bar. Another bartender named Eduardo was working the other end of the bar. Let's just say that I could have been happy just watching Eduardo do his thing. Muy guapo, handsome face and great body. He was clothed but it was obvious. But there was more...

 

   The next thing I know there is a barback who steps into the scene and right in front of me removes his shirt. He had one of those wiry muscular bodies that always catches my attention. His name was Johnathan. I tipped him and told him that was just to show my appreciation for the eye candy. I tipped him several times during the night. Being the ol' farts that we are, my partner Jay and I played dirty old men and watched Johnathan throughout the night. Our agreed upon adjective to describe him was 'adorable'. Johnathan said he had previously danced at the club and could be available for a lap dance. That didn't happen on this visit, but when I return to Dallas, I'm hoping Johnathan is still there, and I will make sure a lap dance with him is on the top of my list.

 

Ever since I started to bodybuild back in early 2012, I wanted to become the next Zyzz. I had a dream to be an aesthetic God. Zyzz was the one who started the aesthetic bodybuilding revolution.    There were five dancers working on this particular night. I interacted with three of them, Jay with one other and then a fifth dancer. We ran out of time and didn't make it to visit with him. But as with Johnathan, there's always next time. One of my favorite dancers of the night was Bryan. Bryan is tall and has an amazing body. He is currently preparing for a body building competition. His appearance is not that of the stereotypical body builder who has lost his neck. He is tall, muscular and lean all at the same time. I tipped Bryan first while he was dancing on one of the stages. At that time he let me know that lap dances were available. And of course, later that evening, I chose to treat myself. The lap dance was a set amount per song. I'm not going to give you any details because you need to experience a Bryan lap dance for yourself. All I'll say, is that if Bryan is available when I return to Dallas, I will do another lap dance with him, or maybe two... But there was more ...

 

   The dancer that Jay chose to tip was Jack Jr. He was tall and stocky. He was fun to watch because he could really dance and you could tell that he was having a good time doing it. While Jay was off tipping Jack Jr., I realized that we weren't going to go anywhere else. We were both having a really good time so, why leave? At this point, I instructed Stormy to make me a bartender's choice cocktail from vodka. I threw out the 'liquor before beer and all is in the clear' rule, and enjoyed something made with vodka and cranberry juice. I must have liked it because before the night was over, I had three more.

 

   Another of our favorite dancers was Theron. He is the ruggedly handsome type with a special gift. He is also a licensed masseuse. I had watched him give a shoulder and neck rub to a customer across the bar. I was green with envy and told Jay that if he'd come over and work on my neck, I'd start pulling the dollars out of my pocket and stuffing them in his underwear. And the gods heard me, because before much time had passed, he was over behind me working on my neck and shoulders. He did the same for Jay. At one point he told me to relax, my response, "I have a hot guy in his underwear rubbing on my body. How the hell am I suppose to relax?" But somehow, I managed to relax and enjoy the bliss.

   There was one other dancer that I had tipped during the night. His name was Alberto. I would have called it a good night if he had been the only dancer. He was sexy with a great body! Unfortunately, once again, I ran out of time and didn't get to spend much time with Alberto, but like I said, there's alway next time. And there will be a next time. And sooner if I can manage it.

   Big D rose to the occasion with my visit to Zippers. I have moved it up the list of my favorite bars with male dancers. As you have read, it was more than just one thing. There was a combination of music, bartenders, male dancers, shoulder rubs, adorable Johnathan and having fun with Jay. It all came together in Dallas and I can't wait to go back! Happy Hour - Now I know why it's happy! The Bulge At The Brick/Joe's in Dallas!

So, a man walks into a bar in the middle of the afternoon (badda bing!)...because his partner is tired and wants to get a beer. "Is it open he says?" The man responds, "The sign says it is." So, my partner and I, the man, walk into The Brick/Joe's in Dallas, TX. Before our eyes can adjust, a male voice comes out of the darkness, "Hello". We say hello back and as we begin to see more clearly, we realize the voice came from a damn cute guy wearing a pair of Calvin Klein football themed underwear with the lace up look on the basket. Of course, then I'm ready to say the other "hello". You know the one I mean. The one you say when you see that hot guy walking in the crosswalk, or down the grocery aisle, or in the car next to you at the traffic light. Yea, you know which one.

We think we're just coming into a bar in the afternoon to have a beer but little did we know, The Brick/Joe's has brought the Happy Hour to a new level. And now I know why it is a happy hour. First, we see Micah, the bartender and the owner of the voice from the darkness, and then it isn't very long before male dancers start arriving and stepping onto the platforms and swinging on the poles. I want to make it clear that these were no ordinary male dancers. I have never seen so many pair of underwear in one place being stretched to the limit. Whatever term you want to use - hung, full basket, blessed, well-endowed,etc. - they all applied. The bulge was big. And those that enjoy the walking-away-view, that scenery was very very nice as well.

There were four bartenders including Micah at the bar where we sat. ALL FOUR were hot as hell. I know it sounds like I'm gushing but the truth is the truth. One of them was wearing a pair of underwear that covered half his ass...this was the design. When I wasn't watching the dancers I was following that ass. The other two bartenders had obviously been spending some quality time in a gym, and I for one was full of appreciation for their hard work. One of them is in the pic below.

I'll be honest after a rather disappointing previous night, I was in need of an attitude adjustment in the form of alcohol and hot men. At the Brick/Joe's I found both. And seriously, I could have sat at the bar and watched the four bartenders and been perfectly content. But the fact that there were also up to seven male dancers at a time throughout the room kept me happy. From my vantage point I saw a slim dancer wearing Andrew Christian red and white underwear that fit perfectly. I watched a muscular dancer in a red thong and hanging long. There was the boy in blue whose bulge was about to bust out of the fabric.

At this moment I must say "Thank you" to my friend Kurt in Tulsa for his recommendation that I stop in at The Brick/Joe's. I am truly grateful. By now it is obvious that I also recommend the Brick/Joe's. You'll find it at 2525 Wycliffe, Dallas, TX. If you're in the Dallas area go party early for Happy Hour. You'll be glad you did!

Bar/Club Owners - It's Time For A Reset Wipe The Slate Clean And Start All Over

During my recent trip to Dallas I had a budget of $300 for tipping the boys. To some that may seem like a lot. To others, that is pocket change compared to what they spend on male strippers in a weekend. However, the important thing here is that I came home with $250 still in my pocket. Why? I was ignored.

Now before you go accusing me of having a big ego or being a tightwad, let me explain. My partner and I play a game each time we visit a club or event with male dancers. We set a budget amount for what we're going to tip the boyz. If we are acknowledged and given a little attention from a male dancer, the money starts coming out of our pocket and into their waistband. If we are ignored, the tip money stays in our pocket.

It's a matter of perspective. Here's the reality. I am a customer who enters a bar or club. I am the source of revenue for the club, the bartenders, the dancers, etc. I have money that I can spend as I wish. And for me specifically, I am a gay male who enjoys the attention of hot young men in their underwear (or sometimes less). Now, just because someone is good looking and has a nice body and stands on a platform or swings from a pole is not a sufficient reason for me to just hand over my hard earned money to them. Think of it this way, I don't walk down the street and hand out money to good looking guys who pass me. I don't tip a waiter simply because he is cute. Even a bartender doesn't get a tip from me just because he looks good behind the bar. He has to sell and serve me a beer or cocktail. I expect something in exchange.

Male dancers make nice eye candy but if all I want is eye candy, I can go to a beach, a swimming pool or a gym. I can go online and see gorgeous men from around the world. I don't tip the sexy men in all these locations, just because they are there. So, why should I tip a male dancer just because he wears a pretty pair of underwear and stands on a box? The answer is...I don't.

I tip as a show of appreciation for a service rendered. The service in this case is contributing to the enjoyment of my night. If a male dancer shows me some attention in a positive way, then I loosen the tight grip on my money and start to show my gratitude in a financial way. I'm not expecting them to camp out at my table or focus exclusively on me during the night. I just want a little acknowledgement. I want to hear that sexy voice and see that smile up close. I want a connection. Nothing big, just one that says, I hope you're having a good time tonight.

I watched at several clubs in Dallas as the dancers stood on the platforms, bounced, danced a little and looked bored. I watched as some of them looked in mirrors at one club directly in my direction only casting their gaze above me, so they could see their own reflection. And I watched as gaps of 15-20 minutes would go by where they received no tips. So, here's the situation. I have $300 in my pocket waiting to go into their waistband or jockstrap. But not one of them even stepped to my table to say hello. Not one of them dropped the gaze on their reflection above my head and made eye contact and smiled. If they had, I would have started dropping the dollars in their direction. As a customer I felt I was no more important than the chair I was sitting in.

I could have brought in a neon sign that says "Free dollars here. Come and get it!" Or, I could have had it announced over the sound system that the man sitting by the mirrors has $300 in his pocket that he wants to give to a dancer. Then, some of them might have attempted to move in my direction, but we know it doesn't work that way, nor would we want it to. And yes, I could have gone up to them while they were dancing and started putting dollars in their briefs in an attempt to get a little attention. Yea, right. That's not going to happen. However, I do know that I will respond when given a smile, a hello, a thank you, or another form of positive acknowledgement.

What I wonder is...do these guys not have bills to pay? And if bills are paid, is there not a new vehicle, new clothes, or electronics that they would like to buy? And if they aren't in it for the money, then what is their motivation to be almost naked and dance several nights a week?

I'm calling for a reset. I encourage all bar/club owners and managers to reassess. Wipe the slate clean and start all over with a focus on the individual customer. Train your staff, doormen, bartenders, barbacks, djs, dancers, etc. to focus on the money source..the customer. I guarantee you, tips and profits will rise.

I do want to end this blog by saying. There are some male dancers getting it right. Do you know where they are? Until next time, tip the boys but expect something in exchange.

Swinging Richard's - Atlanta    The men at Swinging Richard's deliver time after time. Several of our blog readers had an exceptionally good time at the club during 2013. We've been watching this club for several years they are consistently high quality in beautiful male dancers. And they dance fully nude. I try to visit the bar any time that I can. Tracie, Brian, Wes, Steve and all the dancers and staff always make me feel at home. And I always have a good time when there. Joey ~ Riding Tall In The Saddle Dallas Exotic Male Dancer

A few months ago I hit the trail and made a trek to one of my favorite clubs, Mojo's in Tulsa, OK. Upon entering the club I had a friend tell me that Joey was in town. Then a few minutes later another tells me that Joey is in town but he's not dancing this weekend. He is just visiting. I was like, "Ok, but who is Joey!" "Joey, from BJsNxs in Dallas." The words were spoken like, Mike, you of all people...Mike, you of Males In Motion. Mike, you, the grand pupah of exotic male dancers should know who Joey is. Well, of course, I was intrigued. Who is this Joey?

So, the first thing I do is go to BJsNXs website and see if I can find the elusive Joey. And I found him. Then I understood. One of the first pics that I discover is Joey as the cowboy. And then you know the rest of the story. I'm hooked. And now I stand firmly in the line of Joey fans. He's cute as hell. And let's just deal with the obvious right up front. He is packing. When Joey needs to purchase underwear, he has to be more concerned with pouch size instead of waist size. I mean we wouldn't want the 'boyz' falling out now would we. Well, yes we would but...

This past weekend I made another trip to Mojo's in Tulsa. On this trip everyone was talking about going to Dallas for Joey's Birthday celebration. Now exotic male dancer fans will drive several miles to see hot men dancing in their underwear or less. But, this wasn't just a "we're going to see the hot dancing boys" type trip. These guys genuinely like the guy. This tells me that there must be more to this Joey than a large...smile.

I invite you to discover Joey for yourself. You'll find him dancing as already mentioned, at BJsNXs in Dallas. Stop in at the club and let his 'smile' capture your imagination. But I warn you, you'll need to take extra cash. You'll be wanting to tip over and over again. I'm making plans for my next trip to Dallas.
